Fraîchement inscrite en Star Mazda Series, la jeune équipe Team Stange Racing veut faire les choses en grand pour sa toute première saison dans la discipline nord-américaine en 2012. Bien décidée à frapper un grand coup, la structure basée dans l'Illinois vient de recruter pour son staff technique Daniel Gratacos Lincoln et Sergi Borrull, deux ingénieurs qui ont derrière eux de larges années d'expérience dans le monde des sports moteurs en Europe.

Occupant actuellement le poste d'ingénieur au sein du programme Mercedes-Benz DTM, Lincoln devra faire face à un emploi du temps chargé en 2012 avec son entrée dans l'équipe Américaine dirigée par John Stange.

FR Eurocup, FR NEC, DTM, Super League Formula, F3 Euro Series, GP2, World Series by Renault, A1GP, GP2 ASIA, GT et F3 Espagnole sont les disciplines par lesquelles Daniel Gratacos Lincoln s'est forgé une expérience enrichissante en tant qu'ingénieur. Côté pilotes, Lincoln a également travaillé avec de nombreux talents, dont Carlos Sainz, Jr., Oliver Turvey, Neel Jani, Alexander Imperatori, Timo Glock, Ho Pin Tung, Peter Sundberg, Christian Vietoris, Susi Wolf, et Jaime Alguersuari pour n'en citer que quelques-uns.

Riche d'une expérience en monoplaces (World Series by Renault, GP2, et F3 Européenne), Sergi Borrull sera aussi de la partie comme assistant direct de Daniel Gratacos Lincoln. Le Team Stange Racing sera également composé par un line-up de brillants mécaniciens provenants des championnats IndyCar et ChampCar avec de nombreux succès à leur actif.

Enfin, pour soutenir davantage l'équipe, Joel Miller, un ancien pilote Star Mazda évoluant aujourd'hui en Indy Lights, viendra lui aussi renforcer la formation en portant une attention particulière aux données techniques. Décidément, John Stange ne semble avoir rien laissé au hasard...

06/01/12 | Team Stange Racing Gets Serious about 2012 and Brings in a Taste of DTM and European Formula Racing to head up its Engineering Program Along with a Former Star Mazda Great to Help Engineers and Drivers Get up To Speed!

January 6, 2012, Chicago, Illinois U.S.A.: Team Stange Racing, Inc. announced today that it has hired Racing Great, Daniel Gratacos Lincoln from Barcelona Spain to head up its Engineering Program. Mr. Gratacos Lincoln is currently engineering the Mercedes Benz DTM program and will be splitting his time between Team Stange Racing and Mercedes Benz in 2012.

Daniel Gratacos Lincoln is filled with a wealth of experience racing in Europe; He has engineered teams in Championships including: Eurocup, NEC Formula Renault, DTM, Super League, Euro F3, GP2, World Series by Renault, A1GP, GP2 ASIA, GT Championship, and Spanish F3. The Teams honored to have received his service include: A1GP Switzerland, Carlin, Scuderia Coloni, Red Bull Jr., Mercedes DTM, and GTEC to name a few.

Daniel has worked with a long list of drivers such as: Carlos Saniz, Jr., Oliver Turvey, Neel Jani, Alexander Imperatori, Timo Glock, Ho Pin Tung, Peter Sundberg, Christian Vietoris, Susi Wolf, and Jaime Alguersuari to highlight a long list of greats.

Assisting Mr. Gratacos Lincoln will be Sergi Borrull. Mr. Borrull comes from the European racing scene with a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Formula cars bringing with him experience from working in the following Championships: World Series by Renault, GP2, and European F3. After screening an extensive list of engineers to assist Mr. Gratacos Lincoln on Team Stange Racing, “Sergi is a true friend and great engineer, I can trust him and his knowledge of engineering our equipment to the highest level of performance giving the driver the tools he needs to win the race!,” stated Team Engineer Daniel Gratacos Lincoln.

Team Stange Racing will get up to speed much faster with bringing on board Former Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear standout “JOEL MILLER”. Joel will be consulting Engineers, Mechanics and Drivers with Data, Set Ups and information on the Cars to advance Team Stange Racing with getting up to speed quickly. Mr. Miller has a great place in the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear record books with some great finishes, wins, as well as out of his control championship ending disappointments. “To say the least Joel is no stranger to Star Mazda competition and will be a great asset to our team”, stated Team owner John Stange.

Team Stange Racing would also like to announce that the mechanic line up it has retained is lined with the experience of Former Winning Champ car and Indy Car mechanics with Indy 500 wins and championships under their belts. These mechanics will head up the day to day operations and maintenance on TSR cars as well as crew chief duties.
